Introduction

Welcome! Thanks for coming by – This is the personal website for the mostly intense (so they say?) Character actor Stuart J. Prowse. A professional, honest, punctual performer. Who has a deep ingrained love for all things film... So take a look around. Check out the show material and make contact if you have the need. - (Currently Agentless & without Spotlight. I'll source my own work for the moment. But will not work for free. - Been there done that. This time round it's for proper money)

NEWS FLASH:

THURSDAY 23/02/2017 - Just need to refresh my page as the site has asked me too. - I'd still like to resume this acting thing but life won't let me. Lack of funds makes finding any acting jobs hard work. Can't even afford to join the Casting sites I need to be on. Such is.... The dream never dies I may get back there one day. If you're seeing this and rooting for me, I'm still available for work so long as it's paid.

TUESDAY 17th January 2017 - Time to resurrect this beast. I am... and have always been an Actor. This is where I belong and this is by sheer force of will where I'm going to be. - Money is an issue, I can't join Spotlight again at the moment (Link above is defunct. As you may have seen?) And not being on it makes finding an agent tricky. But I've always been good at sourcing my own work, and I need now to reenter the fray.... Contact me for serious offers of paid work. I have no more interest in doing expenses, low pay, No pay. - Working on a new showreel as we speak. I have a lot more to add.

SATURDAY 30th August 2014 - Working a full time job has been taking up to much of my time and I haven't been able to put any energy into searching & applying for Acting roles. Networking or updating profiles such as this one... Though saying that it doesn't mean I've been cut off from film completely. I've still been receiving offers for background work and have recently attended the sets of Wolf hall. Krays Legend & an untitled John Wells project starring Bradley Cooper. All of which I have fair chance of being seen in. (Even contemplating adding my name to the credits on IMDb as it's very likely I'll be spotted. But I'm put off by the fact I don't want background work sullying my professional presence.... Although saying that. Doubts are entering my mind on how professional I'll be. As we end this week it seems I no longer have an Agent.)

 Never mind. Keep moving forward.

I do have work in the pipeline coming up. This October I have a small part in a film shooting in Milton Keynes that is titled 2025. It's a proper role with dialogue, and I'm looking forward to the challenge. Also I'm in talks with a Director to shoot my own project Whiskey In The Morning. After that... Not sure. But I'm not ending my dream of being an Actor here. It may take longer for me then most, as I have a family I need to supply for, so working a nine to five has to be my main focus for the moment. But I will keep in check with my profiles, and find the time for the odd role here & there when I can.

WEDNESDAY 23rd April 2014 - Updating credits finally. Damn, I didn't realize I was part of so many casting sites. Why can't there be a one button update all option? =( ...Another to add in a couple of weeks as well. As I have a small part to shoot in a feature shooting in my home town.

Monday 14th April 2014 - 48hr Sci-Fi challenge completed. Think it went well. See for yourself... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0AoqMd933M&feature=youtu.be

Saturday 12th April 2014 ~ So I'm about to head off to take part in the 48hr Sci-Fi film challenge this weekend. Should be a blast if anything else.... (PS. I've neglected this site far to long. That's what having a day job does to me, just don't have time. But I will get around to updating credits soon. There's actually been a few since January.)

Sunday 5th January 2014 ~ So I enter the New Year by joining the cast of a new Short film called Acoustic Kitty. Which is being directed by hot new director Jennifer Sheridan. Jennifer was the winner of last years Virgin Media Shorts Competition and it's my pleasure to be asked to join her and her team on their new venture.... Other plans for the new year involve finishing shooting Paradise Place. (which has hit a few problems in the making of.) And of course getting started on my own feature film Whiskey In The Morning.

Friday 11th October 2013 ~ Been an eventful few weeks since I last posted. Auditions have been attended, (and failed) I've started work as a Canvasser (swings & roundabouts. some weeks are better then others.) Paradise Place is still shooting, and yesterday I got to do some featured work (if the shots gets used.) on a new Ben Kingsley movie that I probably can't tell you the name of yet........ Actually sod it. I see no harm in revealing the title. Hopefully you may see my face in Our Robot Overlords due in 2014. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2145829/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_8

Saturday 24th August 2013 ~ Well as mentioned in the previous news flash I never actually got that Rock Band Manger job... Such is. Put it behind me and forget it. Work continues on Paradise Place tomorrow... Open the link and like our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Paradise-Place/490872570954446?fref=ts

Friday 16th August 2013 ~ In the month since I last updated. A few things have happened to keep life interesting. 1) I had an audition for a commercial to play a Rock Band Tour Manager, my understanding of this it's a pretty high profile role. And will get seen, according to my agent I appear to have it, I'm on pencil. Though I'm still waiting for confirmation, and I hope that hurries up as it's due to shoot next week. 2.) I'm still busy shooting Paradise Place. I've been out and about with the Director Location scouting, and we are set to resume shooting late August... However. 3.) This acting game is getting very difficult to sustain with no paid jobs. Unfortunately life has gotten in the way, and I start a new 'normal' job on the 26th August. It makes the Acting thing harder, but some way, some how I will work around it. As in the four years I've been acting I've come to realize it's more important to me then anything else I've ever done, or will ever do.

Tuesday 16th July 2013 ~ The work on my own feature film WHISKEY IN THE MORNING has come to a stand still for two reasons. 1.) The BFI turned me down on the idea of funding, so I now need to put into motion another idea to get the film made. And 2.) That will have to wait awhile as I've just been given the lead role in a feature called PARADISE PLACE. Which we started shooting last week. Principal photography is expected to go on  way up until the end of August, and all my time is devoted to learning the lines, as I want this to be the best work I've done. (To date.)

Sunday 02 June 2013 ~ I'll start with an apology. I've been really rubbish at updating this. But let me tell you why, the last few weeks have been busy spent 1.) Shaping my own film WHISKEY IN THE MORNING. Which I am the writer, producer and star of. And is currently picking up speed, I have a director attached and the cast all set to go. I just need to start searching for funding, which will get under way when I shoot the trailer in about a weeks time... Also 2.) I was back on extra duties on the legend that is Alan Rickman's new film A LITTLE CHAOS. two days on that with my old long hair, and then when wrapped a new hairstyle was to be done. I now have short hair to play Danny Farrow in the aforementioned WHISKEY IN THE MORNING

Sunday 19th May 2013 ~ Received the first edited version of Living With The Four Seasons last night.... It can be viewed here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjCDLtGi6J0&feature=youtu.be

Tuesday 7th May 2013 ~ Well it's been a busy couple of weeks film wise. First off I've been shooting my lead role in the short film LIVING WITH THE FOUR SEASONS. Which has already taken four days out of my time, and I still have two days left (at least) to finish. And then when not on that, I've been busy putting together my own feature film WHISKEY IN THE MORNING. Which I was location scouting for  this Saturday just gone, and will be shooting a teaser trailer for in the next few weeks.

Wednesday 24th April 2013 ~ Received confirmation that I've nabbed the lead role in another student short that is set to start shooting in my home town of Luton this Friday. Quite like the title of this one as well, it's called 'LIVING WITH THE FOUR SEASONS'

Thursday 4th April 2013 ~ Well there isn't much going on at the moment. It's been very quite from my Agents, so with no work to do I figured I'd put the finishing touches to my own script. I am now in the midst of the beginning stages of putting a movie called WHISKEY IN THE MORNING together... To early for any details yet, but stay tuned as all news will of course be posted here. (PS. THE HOUSE was completed successfully... and the other audition I had to miss because of it never got back to me. Such is... you win some you lose some.)

Thursday 14th March 2013 ~ Confirmed to play a psychic investigator named Roland in spooky short THE HOUSE. Just received the schedule and it will be shot over three days next week. (the 19th, 20th and 21st.) Unfortunately this meant turning down another audition I was asked to attend on the 19th... Waiting to see if the production agree to reschedule that one. More News as it comes.

Monday 4th March 2013 ~ WINE BEERS & SPIRITS photography wrapped. And it's off to post-production now, and should be with us sometime soon. All new news will of course be posted here... But no time to relax. It's now off to the casting pages to find some other projects I can attach myself too.

Previous News deleted to save space....

Sunday 10th February 2013: ~ Site Created.
